AircraftInspecti Launches: Purpose-Built Software for Aircraft Technical Representatives

Today, AircraftInspecti is officially open to the public. After months of development — and direct input from working aircraft technical representatives across EASA and FAA environments — the platform is ready for the shop floor.

AircraftInspecti is the first software tool built exclusively around the tech rep workflow: from opening a project and running an ATA-structured checklist on the aircraft, through to generating a professional inspection report and invoicing the client. No workarounds. No adapting tools built for different industries. One purpose-built platform, from checklist to signed-off invoice.

Why We Built It

The starting point was a simple observation: aircraft technical representatives are highly skilled professionals who spend an extraordinary amount of their time on administrative tasks that have nothing to do with their technical expertise.

The typical post-inspection workflow for an independent tech rep looks something like this: finish a full day on the shop floor, then spend the evening — or the following day — sorting hundreds of photos into labelled folders, writing up zone-by-zone findings from memory and scattered field notes, assembling a Word document report from scratch, and eventually building an invoice by pulling day rates and expense receipts together manually.

For a busy tech rep, this adds up to four to eight hours of unbillable admin time after every inspection. Across a typical month, that is a week of lost earning potential — and the output is still inconsistent from job to job, because there is no enforced structure.

The Problem in Numbers

4–8 hours of post-inspection admin per job. 1–2 hours spent on photo sorting alone. Reports started from a blank document every time. Invoices built manually from scattered receipts and day-rate notes.

AircraftInspecti was built to solve all of this in one tool. The goal is not to add another app to a tech rep's workflow — it is to replace the entire ad hoc system of folders, Word documents, and spreadsheets with a single structured environment that captures everything in the field, then produces the deliverables automatically.

What the Platform Does

Structured Inspection Projects Linked to the Aircraft MSN

Every inspection starts with a project linked to the aircraft MSN. Select the inspection type — shop visit, pre-purchase, annual, C-check oversight, delivery, redelivery, or lease return — and the platform pre-structures the project by ATA chapter and inspection zone. The framework is ready immediately; there is nothing to configure.

Auto-Tagged Photo Management

Photos are captured directly in the app. Every image is automatically tagged with the zone, ATA chapter, and finding reference at the moment of capture. When the inspection is complete, photos are already organised and cross-referenced — eliminating the sorting step entirely. A structured ZIP export or direct embed into the report is a single tap.

Structured Findings Log

Each defect is logged as a structured record: unique Finding ID, location, description, severity classification (Observation, Minor, Major, or Critical), photo cross-references, and status. Findings are linked automatically to the relevant ATA chapter. The log is the foundation for the report — and it is built in real time on the shop floor, not reconstructed from memory the following evening.

AI-Powered Report Generation

Once zone comments and findings are logged, a single tap generates a complete professional inspection narrative. The AI engine constructs the full report — cover page, executive summary, scope and limitations, zone-by-zone findings with severity classifications, and photo annex — formatted to a professional standard and ready to send as a PDF. What previously took four or more hours takes minutes.

Expense Capture and Invoice Builder

Expenses are logged with receipt capture; AI extracts vendor, amount, and date from receipt photos automatically. When the inspection is complete, the invoice is built directly from the project data — day rates, expenses, and any additional charges — and sent as a PDF from the app. The entire job is closed from one place.

Offline-Capable Mobile App

The iOS and Android apps are fully functional without connectivity. Photos, findings, checklist completions, and zone notes are captured offline and synchronised when connectivity is restored. This is essential for hangar and shop floor environments where mobile data is unreliable or unavailable.

"Tech reps are being asked to be both highly skilled aviation professionals and efficient one-person admin offices. The tools have not kept up. AircraftInspecti is our answer to that gap." — AircraftInspecti Team

EASA and FAA Alignment

AircraftInspecti structures all inspection data around ATA 100 chapter conventions, which aligns with both EASA and FAA technical documentation expectations. Finding severity classifications follow industry-standard commercial aviation practice. The platform is designed to complement the work of qualified technical representatives — it handles structure and documentation, while the professional judgement of the tech rep remains the foundation of every report.
